Stella Ghervas

Stella Ghervas, European historian, is part of the research team of the Maison des Sciences de l’Homme de l’Aquitaine (Bordeaux). Her current research focuses on the cultural and political foundations of the European union, from the 18th century to the present and in a wide geographical perspective (including the West and the South-East of Europe and Russia). She is also a member of IRICE (Identités, relations internationales et civilisations de l’Europe, CNRS / Universities of Paris I and Paris IV) and CIFE (Centre international de formation européenne).

Publications include Réinventer la tradition. Alexandre Stourdza et l’Europe de la Sainte-Alliance (Paris, Honoré Champion, 2008, prix Guizot, Académie française 2009, prix Xenopol, Romanian Academy 2010) and Lieux d’Europe : mythes et limites (Paris, Editions de la MSH, 2008), Penser l’Europe : quarante ans d’études européennes à Genève (Genève, IEUG, 2004).
