Joël Charbit

Joel Charbit holds a PhD in sociology from the University of Lille 1 and he is an associated researcher at CLERSE (UMR 8019). His PhD thesis focused on prisoners’ participation in prison management in France since the end of World War II. His current research interests include the europeanization of correction policies and the comparative history of US and French prison systems.
